Logitech G reveal their latest gaming headset

If you’re a gamer then you’re quite likely well aware of Logitech’s G branded range of peripherals aimed at gaming. They’ve just unveiled their latest headset, the G522, and it boasts some cool features.

The first thing that’s noticeable, whether you opt for black or white, is the LightSync RGB panels on each earcup, which when enabled certainly brighten up the room. But that’s just the very cool eye candy. Then there’s the lightness – at just 280g your head will be happy not being weighed down during those long gaming sessions, with a suspension band also distributing weight evenly across your head for added comfiness.

On the technical side of things, we have a bendy, removeable, full bandwidth 48khz, 16-bit microphone, which promises best in class voice clarity. As for incoming audio, isolated low-profile acoustic 40mm audio drivers deliver a 48kkhz, 24-bit audio signal to the user’s ears, meaning exceptional sound quality. Audio can be adjusted via Logitech’s handy G HUB software or G Mobile app, including ten-band EQ, as well as BLUE VO!CE for tweaking your outgoing audio with filters and effects.

Connectivity comes via any of three options, LIGHTSPEED wireless with the included dongle, Bluetooth, or classic wired, via the included USB-C cable. Promised battery life is impressive, with up to 60 hours with the lighting off, and a still huge 35 hours with it turned on. The G522 headset joins the Logitech G5 series that also includes the G515 keyboard range, and selection of G502 gaming mice.
